Chevrolet wants to do a complete revamp in its portfolio with new model launches in the next two years. So, it has scheduled the launch of the compact sedan that it showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo back in February as a concept in March 2017.

Just very recently, the Chevrolet Beat Essentia compact sedan had been spotted testing on Indian roads. Now reports claim that the sedan will find its launch in March next year. While the Chevrolet Beat Essentia will launch in March, the Chevrolet Beat, on which the sedan is based on, will also launch soon.

All Indian, Korean and other manufacturers have been eyeing the segment for some time, as the demand for the sedan has been on the rise. So, when launched, the Chevrolet Beat Essentia compact sedan will find the Hyundai Xcent as its rival.

The production-ready sedan looks almost the same as the concept showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The sedan gets a bold and pronounced front bumper, well carved out fog lamp housing, sophisticated air intakes, Beat-like front-grille, etc.

It also gets sturdy-looking alloy wheels, sporty high-slung hood, a beautiful side profile, ORVMs with integrated side indicators, etc. Both the rear and the side profiles look sophisticated, as in an executive sedan.

So, the Chevrolet Beat Essentia compact sedan shares a lot of similarities with its hatchback sibling, the Chevrolet Beat hatchback. The new-generation model of the Chevrolet Beat will look almost the same, while it takes a few of the components from the new-generation Chevrolet Spark too.

The interior will get MyLink touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel, etc. in a highly spacious cabin. The Chevrolet Beat Essentia compact sedan will likely come powered by 1.2-litre petrol motor that will make 77 bhp of power and 107 Nm of torque and the 1.0-litre diesel motor that will make 56 bhp of power. Both of them will be linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Chevrolet will likely launch the AMT version too, after the sedan’s launch.
