Pune: Japanese car manufacturer Honda has achieved an impressive sales milestone of selling 20,000 units of its latest mid-size SUV, the Honda Elevate, within just 100 days of its official launch in September 2023.

The popular Elevate accounted for over 50 per cent of Honda Cars’ total sales in the fiercely competitive SUV market during the last 3 months. The September-November period saw sales grow by 11 per cent compared to the previous year.

“We are thrilled to witness the remarkable success of the Honda Elevate, which has surpassed our expectations. The 20,000 sales milestone of Elevate in the first 100 days of launch is a proud moment for us. We have maximized the production of the Elevate to serve our waiting customers as early as possible and adjusted the variant mix to align with the market demand which is overwhelmingly high for CVT variants currently,” said Yuichi Murata, Director of Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India.

Honda sold 11,891 cars in November 2023. These included 8,730 domestic sales, while 3,161 units were exported. That is a 24 per cent increase in domestic sales and 335 per cent growth in exports compared to the previous year.

The Honda Elevate was launched in September at a starting price of Rs 11 lakh at the Delhi showroom. The top variant Elevate costs Rs 16 lakh. These introductory prices are valid till the end of December.

The mid-size SUV is sold with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 119 BHP and 145 Nm of torque. It is mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed CVT.

The Honda Elevate competes with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Maruti Grand Vitara, among others.
