Mahindra unveils race edition of XUV400 EV, Gen 3 electric race car
HYDERABAD: Indian automobile giant Mahindra showcased the race edition of the XUV400 EV during the unveiling of Mahindra Racing’s Gen 3 electric race car, which will be used by the team’s racers in the Formula E race which will be held in Hyderabad on Saturday.
In an electrifying event held at the Tech Mahindra campus in the city, Anish Shah MD & CEO of Mahindra Group, said that the Formula E event is not just any other race for Mahindra Racing. “Formula E is a celebration of the future,” he added.
Mahindra Racing is one of the founding teams of Formula E and the group is also the first Indian automobile manufacturer to develop an E-race car.
Speaking at the event, the team’s driver Lucas Di Grassi said, “Since it is a home race for the team, we shall try extra hard to perform well in front of the crowd.”
“Yes, there is added pressure to be racing in India, but the atmosphere here is welcoming and we want to give our absolute best to the crowd cheering for us,” he added.
With two drivers Lucas Di Grassi and Oliver Rowland, Mahindra Racing will be one of the 11 racing teams participating in the fourth round of ABB FIA Formula E World Champion in Hyderabad.
