Maruti Suzuki India launches new service point at Rampally

 Hyderabad: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has drawn up plans to add about 350 new workshops across the country this year, said Partho Banerjee, Executive Director, Service at Maruti Suzuki.

The company on Tuesday launched a new service point in the city at NEXA Service ,Rampally in Hyderabad. With this, it has crossed the 4,500-mark with respect to the number of service touch points in India.

The car service segment grew 23 per cent last fiscal in line with the growing sales. The company has serviced 22.3 million cars during 2022-23, which is the highest ever in a financial year, he said.

“The company added a new workshop almost every day of the 2022-23.  Many of these were added in the non-urban markets. This year too, we have plans to add about 350 workshops across the country. They will be different sizes and the manpower requirement will be different,” said Banerjee.

Maruti Suzuki India has recently introduced seven-days-a-week and night service facilities at select workshops, doorstep service facility, specially designed ‘service on wheels’, Maruti mobile support, quick response teams to provide customers with flexibility of availing services as per their convenience.

Currently, about 80,000 people are employed in the about 4,500 service outlets across India. It has 62 service outlets in Hyderabad and 147 in Telangana and 179 in Hyderabad, he said.

“Sales happen once but service is a continuous thing. We see the heat maps of the cars in a particular area and then decide on the location to be closer to the customers,” he said.

The company has digitised the customer touchpoints to allow customers the convenience of choosing their service slots. It also offers roadside assistance to bring the vehicles to showrooms. “Regular service is the key to avoiding breakdowns,” he said.
