The 300cc parallel-twin motor shared with the TNT 300 makes 36PS @ 12,000rpm and 27Nm of torque @ 9000rpm.

Benelli's first ever fully faired motorcycle in the country, the 302R has finally been launched at Rs 3.48 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). It is powered by the same engine as the TNT 300 but has a new, lighter trellis frame compared to the TNT 300. It has a 50-50 weight distribution, and according to the Italian bike maker, it offers better dynamics.  It comes with upside down forks up front and a conventionally mounted monoshock at the back. Also, it has dual front disc setup with ABS.

Design-wise, other than the new fairing, the 302 R gets a new full-size exhaust. Most parts like the tank and instrument cluster have been carried over from the TNT 300.

The 300cc parallel-twin motor shared with the TNT 300 makes 36PS @ 12,000rpm and 27Nm of torque @ 9000rpm. It gets a six-speed gearbox. Claimed top speed is 170kmph.

While the Benelli 302R was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo, the delay in launch had been due to Benelli's decision to launch it with ABS and also the switch to BS-IV emission norms.

Bookings for the 302R are open at Benelli dealerships across the country. In fact, the dealerships had been accepting bookings for the bike since the last month. Booking amounts start as low as Rs 30,000 depending on dealerships.

The 302R will compete against the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha YZF-R3 and KTM RC 390.
