BJP Chief Wants CM To Answer Why He Skipped Niti Ayog Meeting
The stance taken by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is harming the State. He must explain to the public why he missed the NITI Ayog meeting? he said
BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah came in for criticism from State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra over skipping Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened NITI Ayog meeting in Delhi on Saturday.
While seeking an answer from the Chief Minister, Vijayendra wanted the Chief Minister to explain to the people of the State the reason behind him not attending the meeting. Whether he “boycotted” the NITI Ayog meeting or “Did he not feel it was important to attend?,” should be told to the people of the State. He termed the absence of Chief Minister Siddaramaih at NITI Ayog meeting as “unfortunate.”
He accused the Congress government of prioritizing politics over development by protesting against the Central Government in New Delhi with its MLAs, last year and alleged Siddaramaiah of meting out “injustice” to the State by skipping an important meeting of NITI Ayog.
“The NITI Ayog meeting was an important one with an agenda to discuss the transformation of the country into a developed nation by 20247 with input and vision from various States,” said the BJP president and pointed out the NITI Ayog meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Congress ruled States of Himachal Pradesh, Telangana and non-BJP rule Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
Vijayendra felt "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah taking a confrontation route with the Union Government won’t benefit the State" and observed “Since assuming charge as Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah has been at odds with the Union Government.”
“The stance taken by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is harming the State. He must explain to the public why he missed the NITI Ayog meeting?” he said.
