Aditya Chopra Fast-tracks ‘Mardaani 3’

Yash Raj Films’ 2026 female superhero or the ‘Shero’ slate features two high-profile female-led projects: Mardaani 3 with Rani Mukerji and Alpha starring Alia Bhatt. Aditya Chopra has decided to fast-track Mardaani 3, the third installment of the cop-thriller franchise led by his wife Rani.

Alpha, on the other hand, faces uncertainty. Its release has already been postponed twice and the film is reportedly undergoing significant revisions.

A close friend of Aditya Chopra explains: “It isn’t about giving Mardaani 3 priority for Rani. Aditya is simply very confident in the product. This installment has shaped up better than its predecessors, which is why its release was preponed from February 27 to January 30.”

Meanwhile, Alpha continues to be revamped. Sources suggest Chopra also intends to release Alia Bhatt’s Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, before Alpha.
