Indian students' deportation continues from United States

Deportation has picked up again since Jan 2 with nearly 20 students arriving every day.

Hyderabad: The deportation of Telugu students from US continued on Tuesday, with as many as 16 students arriving at the Hyderabad airport. A total of 48 students have been deported in the last two days; most of them had opted for low-profile universities.

Students said they had been sent back inspite of giving “satisfactory replies” on their study plans and finances to US immigration offcials.“There was largescale deportion of students from the US from December 19 to 21, when 30 to 40 students arrived every day.

Later it subsided during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Deportation has picked up again since January 2 with nearly 20 students arriving on an average every day,” said an official at the RGIA
