Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy: Hyderabad go down to Gujarat

Nagpur: Skipper Parthiv Patel led from the front with a blistering 40-ball 70 as Gujarat defeated Hyderabad by three wickets in the national T20 championship for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy here on Monday.
In the Group ‘A’ match, Hyderabad were restricted to 131 for seven in the stipulated 20 overs after choosing to bat at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground. In reply, Gujarat chased down the target with three balls to spare, reaching 134 for 7 in 19.3 overs.
During his blazing knock, Parthiv struck eight boundaries and three sixes, and put on 99 runs for the opening wicket with Priyank Kirit Panchal, who made 32.
For Hyderabad, skipper Hanuma Vihari top-scored with 32, while Tanmay Agarwal, Akash Bhandari and B. Sandeep contributed 25, 24 and 20 runs respectively. Meanwhile in Baroda, medium pacer Ranjit Mali returned with impressive figures of 4 for 26 to help Railways beat Andhra by seven runs in a low-scoring Group ‘C’ match.
