Ongole: Ongole MP Y.V. Subba Reddy has demanded a CBI probe into the call money scam and suspension of their party legislator Roja. Speaking to media persons in his office here on Friday, he found fault with the behaviour of the TD legislators in the recent sessions of the Assembly. Stressing that he is not supporting the comments of Roja, he sought records of speeches of the members that led to the imbroglio in the Assembly.

He expressed confidence in securing special status to AP next year. He reprimanded BJP for their pre-election claims over 10 years' special status if they come to power and their silence on the issue now.

The senior YSRC leader lamented over the plight of tobacco and cotton farmers because of TD and BJP's failure to hike the minimum support price as per the recommendations of Swamy Nathan Commission. Mr Subba Reddy sought compensation to chilli farmers hit by recent rains in Prakasam and Guntur districts.

He urged the government to organise a public hearing to elicit their opinion on establishing an Atomic Power Plant at Ramayapatnam while pointing to a proposal of the Union government. He said that people and the government in West Bengal opposed the power plant when the Centre proposed the project.

Referring to 12,000 ex-service men living in Giddalur, Markapuram and Yerragondapalem villages, he said that the government will establish a canteen at Giddalur shortly for their benefit.
