Minor fire triggers scare at UB City
A minor fire broke out on the second floor of the UB City on Vittal Mallya road.
Bengaluru: A minor fire broke out on the second floor of the UB City on Vittal Mallya road on Tuesday morning. Two fire tenders rushed to the spot in less than 10 minutes and doused the fire and no casualties were reported.
The building management team effectively managed to evacuate people from the second floor without creating any panic. According to the fire personnel, the call was made at around 10:03 am by one of the employees of the building management.
The security personnel, who were monitoring the CCTVs at a control room in the building, initially noticed the fire. The fire is suspected to have been caused due to short circuit on the second floor that was locked up for renovation.
Some construction material and wooden items that were stocked caught fire and thick smoke was billowing out, said an employee who did not wish to be identified.
