Mumbai: Dilip Kumar turned 93 yesterday but his birthday celebrations was a low-key affair to show solidarity to those affected by the Chennai floods. Dilip and his wife Saira Banu had lived in Chennai for a few years after their marriage and hence it holds special place in their heart.

The actor rang in his 93rd birthday with the media, who wished him with a big 'crown' cake. While veteran actor Saira Banu is trying to get Dilip sahab to smile, saying a crown has arrived for the 'shehenshah', media is seen singing a birthday jingle for the evergreen star.

Dilip Kumar will soon be honoured with the Padma Vibhushan, the country’s second-highest civilian award at home on December 13. Though the award was conferred earlier this year, he was unable to attend the ceremony in April at the Rashtrapati Bhavan owing to illness. The award will be presented by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
