Bengaluru: Miraculous escape from bus
Two people had a miraculous escape after a Whitefield bound BMTC Volvo bus allegedly lost control.
BENGALURU: Two people had a miraculous escape after a Whitefield bound BMTC Volvo bus allegedly lost control, hit a two-wheeler and an autorickshaw before coming to a halt, near the skywalk in Marathahalli around 4.30 pm on Thursday.
According to the police, the driver of the BMTC bus (330B) lost control, due to suspected brake failure, hit a scooter, being driven by Nirmala (23), an auto-rickshaw and came to a halt after hitting the median. Fortunately there were no casualties.
While Nirmala was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, the auto-rickshaw driver, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, is also being treated as an out-patient. Police said the driver, identified as Chandrashekhar, alleges that the accident took place due to brake failure.
A report has been sought report from the experts and based on that a case will be registered. As of now HAL Airport Road traffic police have detained the driver and conductor of the bus, police added. A case has been registered against BMTC bus driver.
