ChennaiNearly 500 residents of Adi Dravida colony in ward four of Ernavoor protested on Ernavoor flyover alleging they had not received relief materials from the government.

Residents said stagnant water mixed with sewage was still there in their localities posing a health hazard.  “Private donors who come to our area to supply relief materials are also blocked by political functionaries,” said Jothi, a resident.

Affected families who were staying at the Government Higher Secondary School nearby were asked to vacate abruptly on Wednesday following which angry residents staged the protest. The crowd was pacified by the Tiruvottiyur AIADMK MLA K. Kuppan who promised that relief materials would be supplied to them.
