The Chocolate Boy and Dimple Star of Sandalwood was away for a while cooking his own Wedding Pulav. But, now, he is back with two Sandalwood releases. Diganth Manchale, who is presently shooting for his next big Bollywood project — Ticket to Bollywood speaks to Bengaluru Chronicle about his upcoming releases, Bollywood journey, his marriage and much more.

“I am currently shooting for my next Bollywood project Ticket to Bollywood. I am also working on Hit Wicket in Kannada. After Minchagi Neenu Baralu which was finally released after a long time, I have huge expectations with Sharp Shooter which has a huge star cast and great songs too. It is not surprising that people prefer Minchagi Neenu Baralu  for its unique story and the making. With word of mouth publicity, it is slowly picking up and I hope that it will profit the producers,” says Diganth, who has had a forgetful Bollywood debut with his debut movie failing to make any impact at the box-office.

After the bitter taste of Wedding Pulav, Diganth is back in Sandalwood with back-to-back releases in two weeks. He says, “I tried my best to talk to the concerned producers about the releases. However, they had their own issues to resolve. It usually happens with big stars too.”

Even as his last week’s release is gaining popularity, Sharp Shooter directed by Ghouse Peer is also ready to release. The star reveals that the action comedy revolves around the lead character, who is forced by his mother to get married but unfortunately no girl is willing to marry the hero due to ‘some’ physical ailments. “However, the character finds a girl to marry and what follows is a joyful ride,” he adds.

Working in Bollywood, the actor feels has its own advantage and is nothing but flying business class, “An actor working in Bollywood can take time to prepare for a role. There are hardly any early morning shoots, and not more than two scenes are shot in a day, unlike in Sandalwood wherein at least three to four scenes are shot.”

With Aindrita Ray featuring in a special number for Sharp Shooter, the actor clears the air on the constant rumours about his wedding, “Some of them are ‘half-truths’ but my wedding will most certainly happen in 2017,” he smiles, when asked about the “ray” of hope in both their lives.

Apart from the two releases, Diganth also awaits his comeback film Parapancha thanks to his tryst with the successful director Yogaraj Bhat. “It is a story based on psychology, is narrated in a humorous way. Ragini Dwivedi plays an interesting character and she is not just another co-star in Parapancha. I have high hopes on this one too,” he says, before revealing that all the travelling has taken a toll on his body due to which he has lost a lot of weight, admitting that he sometimes finds it hard to cope with his busy schedule. We sure wish him well, and await that “ray”diant news soon!
