Telangana to send medicines to Chennai

Hyderabad: The Telangana state government will be sending essential items, clothes and medicines to rain-ravaged Chennai. Following Chief Minister K. Chandr-asekhar Rao's directions on Wednesday, chief secretary Rajiv Sharma spoke to his Tamil Nadu counterpart on Thursday and offered all the possible help. The Tamil Nadu government sought assistance in rescue operations and restoration of power supply and communication system more than essential items.

Mr Sharma said the Telangana government was ready to assist in restoration of power and communication services by sending officials and staff at the earliest. The Telangana government has offered to supply electric transformers, electric poles, electric cables and communication infrastructure.
