Chennai: Fisherman, mechanic drown

ChennaiThe body of a fisherman who went missing after his fishing boat capsized near Foreshore Estate due to bad weather, was washed ashore in Neelankarai.  Though four other fishermen managed to swim to the shore, Velu could not make it after the boat was hit by a rough sea. 
 
The fishermen were returning after a catch on Monday evening when incident happened. Sources said that the quintet including boat owner Vinoth Kumar from Nochikuppam went to fishing from
Foreshore Estate on Monday morning and was returning with the catch in the evening when the mishap occurred around 2 nautical miles off Foreshore Estate. 
 
In another incident, Gunasekaran, 27, a boat mechanic, drowned in the sea when he was repairing a boat anchored at Kasimedu fishing harbour on Monday. When he disappeared from the boat, the fishermen searched for him and found him dead in the waters.
