Nisham case: No Vigilance case against top cop
DC has learnt that the investigators could not find any evidence about money transaction during the meeting
THRISSUR: The Vigilance investigation into the closed-door meeting between Mr Jacob Job, former city police commissioner, and Mohammed Nisham, accused in the Chandrabose murder case, has drawn a blank, it is learnt.
The one-and-a-half-hour meeting had taken place at the commissioner’s office at Ramavarmapuram here a day before Nisham was sent to judicial custody after being held by the police on January 29, the day Chandrabose was attacked.
After a department-level investigation into the meeting held by former Thrissur Range IG T.J. Jose (who was later allegedly caught cheating in the LLM examination), Mr Job was suspended pending inquiry and it is yet to be revoked.
Vigilance DySP A. Ramachandran said that the new Vigilance director N. Shanker Reddy would take a call on the report before it is submitted to the Vigilance court here.
Mr P.D. Joseph, a Thrissur- based activist, had in a complaint submitted to the court, sought an inquiry to find out whether Nisham had made any offers to the commissioner to dilute the case against him.

The Vigilance sleuths had questioned Mr Job, Nisham, his father and the police officials, who were present at the commissioner’s office at the time of the meeting.
No statement as Bose was in ICU: Police
The investigating officer in the Chandrabose murder case, P.C. Bijukumar, circle inspector, told the trial court on Thursday that the police could not record the final statements of Chandrabose as he was admitted in a critical condition in the ICU of Amala Medical College and Hospital here after he was allegedly hit with a Hummer car by accused Mohammed Nisham.
The circle inspector is the 111th and last prosecution witness in the murder case. He said that the police had asked the doctors at Amala Hospital for recording the statements as he continued to be in a critical condition.
“We had filed a plea before the Kunnamkulam Judicial Magistrate Court on February 11. The Chavakkad magistrate had come to take the final statement but could not do so as the medical condition of the victim deteriorated,” said Bijukumar.
The hospital staff had removed the clothes of Chandrabose and the police were unable to trace them, he said.
