Hyderabad: A few interface experiments with groups of people have been carried out by L&T Metro Rail to understand people’s psychology of traveling in the new mode of transport.
Officers said that this was important as it gave them an insight as to how the people in the city were accepting the mode of transport.

A senior officer said, “The experiments have helped us understand what people are going to look for at the metro station and also what precautions they must take while travelling. Accordingly our staff is being trained.” This feedback has also given them the confidence that people are waiting for the Metro Rail as a mode of transit.

Women escorts to help commuters

The Hyderabad Metro Rail will appoint women escorts who will help commuters board the trains. Six women attendants have been trained for the purpose. A senior officer said, “This is a new medium of transport and people will take time to understand the system."

"The automatic doors have been a major issue with many commuters and for that reason the women escorts are being posted.” Security personnel and male escorts have also been posted to help commuters understand the routes and transit from the concourse to the platforms.
