Nellore: In a tragic incident three persons including two women were washed away in Tippavarappadu stream in Gudur mandal late on Sunday night, while a fourth person had a miraculous escape as he caught hold of a tree branch and was rescued on Monday morning.

Those got washed away in the stream have been identified as A. Suneetha, 26, of Anantamadugu, Mangapudi Ramanamma, 30, of SC Colony and Sriramsety Sekhar, 27, all from Saidapuram. The  fourth person, Lebaka Venkateswarlu, 30, of Anantamadugu village in Saidapuram had a miraculous escape

According to Gudur Rural Sub Inspector Jaganmohan, Suneeta and Ramanamma, working in Apex Shoe Company at Chillakur, boarded an auto rickshaw around 9 PM at Gudur after attending duty to go to Tippavarappadu junction. Sekhar and Venkateswarlu also boarded the same auto.

They decided to walk to Saidapuram from Tippavarappadu junction as there was no transport facility at that time. They crossed Tippavarappadu stream but they could not proceed further as another stream near by was overflowing on the road.

To their misfortune water level in Tippavarappadu stream suddenly increased when they entered the stream. Unable to judge the water level in the darkness they proceeded further and got washed away. Officials are continuing the search.
