Earning the tag of largest camel fair in Asia, Pushkar fair is held annually around October-November in the lake town.
Other animals like donkeys, horses too are traded.
Camels are bred by the local villagers and traded between buyers and owners that come from different districts and villages.

The festival is complete with camel race, tug of war (between different villages), competition to find the man with longest moustache, strongest moustache, best violin player and many more.
