Guntur: The verbal war between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Telugu Desam continued on Tuesday. Senior TD MP of Narasaraopeta, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao termed that the defeat of BJP in the Bihar Assembly elections is the result of curse of AP people due to the absence of Special Category Status (SCS) to AP.

Mr Sambasiva Rao came to Vinukonda on Tuesday for  a private programme. Speaking to the reporters, he said that AP people largely hoped about the anno-uncement of special status or a special package from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 22 during the new capital Amaravati foundation programme, but they were totally disappointed with presenting of soil and water. He said that the AP people cursed the BJP due to its irresponsibility and this curse affected the BJP in the Bihar elections.

He claimed that it was his personal opinion and there is no connection to the Telugu Desam with his statement. He said that he was also disappointed with Mr Modi when he returned without any announcement. Mr. Sambasiva Rao said that Mr Modi announced huge packages to Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir but never taken AP into consideration for special status or special package.

He claimed that special status is the right of AP and if the Union government cannot give it then there are chan-ces of a special package announcement, but the BJP failed to do so. The TD MP predicted that the BJP will face Bihar-like treatment if it fails to announce special status or special package to AP in the future and demanded that the BJP announce it as early as possible.

Retaliating to the statements of TD leaders, senior BJP leader and former minister K. Lakshminarayana said that despite fulfillment of promises like AIIMS, agriculture university, NIT and others by the BJP government, TD leaders are trying to malign the BJP.  He lamented that the TD leaders are not honouring the BJP as the ally of the TD, which is very sad.
