TIRUPATIWaterfalls and streams that had mostly dried up for long came alive  here Tuesday following heavy rainfall, giving a great visual treat to  locals and pilgrims who thronged the Tirumala hills as also Tirupati.

The waterfalls cascading down the hills and rivulets added to the  aesthetics of both the places, sending viewers into a frenzy. The Kapila Theertham, Malvani Gundam, Jeevakona, Talakona, Tirumala hills, Thumbura Theertham, Aakasa Ganga, Chakra Theertham and many other places presented joyous scenes, even as rain continued for the day. Seshachalam hills presented an enchanting sight, with mist adding  to the charms, and cascading water giving the area fresh vigor. In Kapilatheertham, locals and pilgrims made mirth throughout the day.

Tirumala hills witnessed incessant rainfall for the last two days. Streams of water gave a special feel to the 15km-long Second Ghat Road   where water cascaded down the rocks, adding a new life and vigour to  Tirumala hills.

Several pilgrims were seen stopping their vehicles and  getting down from them to have a close encounter with the flowing  waters.
They also got busy taking pictures and selfies in the  backdrops of the waterfalls, with mobile phones and cameras clicking  throughout the day.
Vehicles that generally gain extra speed while approaching Tirumala —eager as pilgrims are to touch down and have darshan of the Lord the soonest — chose to travel at snail's pace Tuesday, their occupants savouring the sights of cascading waterfalls and the beauty of Seshachal Ranges in gay abandon.
