Guntur filmmaker returns award

Yakkanti worked as a cinematographer and a scriptwriter for a few films

Hyderabad: Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti, a filmmaker from Guntur who received the Special Jury Award in 2003 for his short film Ek Aakash, returned his award on Thursday in Mumbai along with 23 other filmmakers on various issues, mainly on that of intolerance.

Yakkanti worked as a cinematographer and a scriptwriter for a few films. He was the cinematographer for Marathi film Deool which won three national awards. Yakkanti is an FTII graduate and is working in a movie, Sanctum of Evil.
