The team that won the inaugural Indian Super League and the team that should have won it will usher in the second season at the Nehru Stadium here on Saturday.
MumbaiAtletico de Kolkata broke their three-match losing streak with a clinical counter-attacking display to surge to a 4-1 win against Mumbai City FC at the DY Patil stadium here on Sunday.

Canadian striker Iain Hume scored a hat-trick while Jewel Raja chipped in with a goal to seal the third win of the season for the defending champions. This was the third hat-trick by any player this season and also the third overall in the history of the ISL at this venue.

The visitors also halted Mumbai City’s three-match winning streak. Both the teams now have 10 points from seven games. Substitute Selim  Benachour pulled one back for the home team.

Nicolas Anelka started for the first time this season, perhaps to wow the home crowd before ending their home stretch of five games. However the ploy didn’t seem to work as Sunil Chhetri was pushed to the left and looked out of place. Sony Norde also seemed to fizzle under the weight of Anelka’s presence.

After resisting ruthless attacks for a while, the visitors launched a quick counter with Jaime Gaavilan rushing forward and sending an accurate long ball for Hume who charged into the box and volleyed the ball in.
