Bengaluru: 26-year-old drunk techie dies in bike accident

BengaluruDrunk driving and riding without helmet proved fatal for a 26-year-old software engineer as he rammed his bike to the parapet wall on Yashwantpur Flyover early Sunday. The deceased, Vinay Shankar, was a resident of Rajajinagar.
 
Vinay had got a new job offer in an MNC and was scheduled to join on November 28. He had organised a party for his friends and had consumed alcohol at a club in Sadashivanagar on Saturday night. After leaving the club, he went to his friend Bharat’s house in Bhoopasandra. There also he consumed alcohol and the party continued till 3 am.
 
“He left his friend’s place after sometime and at around 5 am, he reached Yashwantpur flyover and was reportedly speeding. As a result, he lost control and rammed the bike to the parapet wall. As he was not wearing helmet, he sustained fatal head injuries. He was rushed to hospital, but he succumbed on the way,” the police said.
