How to have two active WhatsApp accounts on one phone

WhatsApp is one of the most popular and highly preferred chat applications today. However, WhatsApp is only restricted for use only on a smartphone. Though you can use it on a desktop, you need to install an android emulator, but you will use the smartphone version totally. WhatsApp Web is another way to use it on the desktop, but you still need the smartphone to be active on an internet connection.

WhatsApp is presently available for all mobile platforms and is only possible to use it on a single number per phone. But with numerous dual SIM smartphones out there, how would one use WhatsApp for both the numbers on the same phone? Officially, it’s not possible and you would have to use a second smartphone. However, an unofficial app can help you use two WhastApp accounts on the same phone, simultaneously. Download the application from here and watch the video on how you can do it. The procedure is simple and will take you a few minutes to get it done. Sorry iPhone users, this trick is for Android smartphones only. Hopefully iPhone developers will come out with a similar solution. However, we urge WhatsApp to come up with a default option for Dual SIM users. (There are some Chinese smartphones with triple and quad SIM options too – wonder how will they be served?)

How to control your TV with any smartphone

Most new flagship smartphones from top brands, such as the Samsung, HTC and a few more, are the only ones that have an IR blaster for controlling your TV, AC or set-top-boxes. The phones feature an IR blaster LED on the top edge of the body, and a built-in IR remote app, using which one can control other devices. Sadly, older smartphones don’t have the feature possibility since they don’t incorporate IR blaster LEDs. However, with a few tweaks and a little soldering skill, you can add IR remote controlling features to almost any mobile phone. All you need are two IR LEDs and a stereo earphone audio male jack. You can get the IR LEDs from any electronic spare parts shop around your home or even rescue two from an old remote control. If you have some older unused, or non-working, remote controls around your house, simply rip them apart. Then take apart (desolder) the transparent (or black in most cases) LED found on the top of the housing (on the inside). This is the IR LED in the remote control and you will need two of them. Lastly, you can rescue an audio jack from any old earphone if you cannot find a new spare. Now follow the procedure in the video below and you will have the ability to control any electronic device from your phone (provided they are IR remote compatible.
