'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2', the much awaited sequel to the iconic cult film 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' which dealt with relationship woes hit the jackpot at the box office when it released nationwide last weekend. Photo: Viral Bhayani
'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2' repeated the three lead actresses from the original- Nushrat Bharucha, Sonalli Sehgall and Ishita Sharma- and saw actors Sunny Singh Nijjar and Omkar Kapoor replace Divyendu Sharma and Raayo S Bakhirta.
The movie has been playing in approximately 1400 screens across India and has received a huge response from its beloved fans in India and around the globe.

The actor said, "We didn't want fans to say 'Oh this was not better than the first film.' We wanted them to love this as much as they loved the first one."
Kartik and his co-stars Omkar Kapoor, Ishita Raj, Nushrat Bharucha, Sonalli Sehgall and Sunny Singh said that they were "overwhelmed" by the response of the film and also said that they were under a "lot of pressure" to outdo the previous film.
'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' is a universal concept. You can use different set of characters and put them in a situation like this again and again. But the content has to be good and different," Kartik told PTI.
In a recent interview, actor Kartik Aaryan said that he would love to have a part three to the 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' franchise. He said, "Definitely, I would love to have a part three. But not right now. Even the second part took some time to come.
The movie got a positive response at the box office on the first day itself, with the collections being Rs. 6.80 cr which kept growing during the course of weekend and totalled to Rs. 22.75 cr in the first weekend itself.
After recieveing rave reviews and good word of mouth publicity, the film has managed to cross the 50 crore mark. To celebrate the film's success the cast came together for a special party that was held last evening in Mumbai.
