Looks like maverick filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s much-talked about multi-starrer bilingual has been shelved. The untitled project ran into several problems even before Mani launched it.

The movie initially was touted to star actor Karthi, a former assistant to Mani, Dulquer Salmaan, and Keerthi Suresh among others. Things took a sudden turn and some of the actors including Dulquer and Keerthi walked out of the project citing dates issues. Nani and Nithya Menen were said to replace them. One more addition was Saiyami Kher.

But now hear that Mani has postponed the commencement of the film which has resulted in the leading stars opting out due to their prior commitments. Reports suggest that the ambitious project has been shelved due to casting issues and the Ok Kanmani director has moved on to a fresh script for which he may collaborate with Dhanush.

However, when DC contacted Karthi, the actor neither denied it, nor revealed much when asked if the project was shelved. He said, “Mani sir has postponed the launch and I can accommodate dates only after next year March. The shooting for two of my films Thozha and Kashmora is underway now.”
