There were talks that Raabta, directed by Dinesh Vijan and Homi Adajania was to be shelved, but that isn’t the case as per recent developments. The director duo has been looking for an actress to play the female lead opposite Sushant Singh Rajput after Alia Bhatt walked out of the film to sign Shuddhi. Incidentally, both Shuddhi and Raabta are based on stories pertaining to reincarnation. The latter will see characters whose love for each other spans across different eras.

Says a source, “After Alia Bhatt abandoned the project to be part of Karan Johar’s Shuddhi, there were talks about the film being shelved. But the filmmakers are now looking for other actresses to take on the role of the lead actress. Homi and Sushant are also back to discussing the film.”

Sushant, who is currently shooting for the biopic on Mahendra Singh Dhoni, will start work on Raabta as soon as the leading lady is finalised.
