Srinagar: The body of the truck conductor, who lost the nine-day battle for life to burn injuries sustained in a petrol bomb attack in Udhampur, was flown to Srinagar on Sunday in an aircraft belonging to the Jammu and Kashmir government.

Zahid's body was flown from Delhi to Srinagar in a state aircraft this evening, official sources said. The sources said Lok Sabha member from south Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti, state Finance Minister Haseeb A Drabu and Law Minister Basharat Bukhari were at the Srinagar airport to receive the body.

Zahid's body will be taken to his native Batengoo village in Anantnag district for performing last rites. The youth was injured in a petrol bomb attack by miscreants at Shiv Nagar in Udhampur district on October 9 and succumbed this morning at a hospital in Delhi.
