ChennaiThe Madras High court has ordered notice  on a petition which sought action against a person who joined Tangedco as a worker using fake certificates. Justice M. Sathyanarayanan, before whom a petition filed by N. Rajeshkumar of Tiruvottiyur came up for hearing, has ordered the notice to the authorities.

In the petition, Rajeshkumar submitted that he completed diploma in electrical and electronic engineering in 2005 and applied for a job in TNEC (now Tangedco). “Due to various reasons, I was not selected. Currently, I am working in a manpower agency,” he said.  He came to know that, K. Krishnan secured job as a helper in TNEB. The authorities fixed VIII standard as minimum qualification to apply for the job. Krishnan, who had not completed VIII standard, had produced fake certificates and secured the job and is now working as foreman grade – II from 2007 at Ennore Thermal Power Plant. Subsequently, he procured properties worth several lakh of rupees.

As Krishnan has been undertaking several other contract works, he does not attend the work in the power plant regularly. The petitioner sought the court to pass an interim order restraining him from performing the duty as foreman and sought action against him. Justice Sathyanarayanan ordered notice to the authorities and adjourned the matter for further hearing to November 23.
