Chandrababu Naidu releases invitation cards for new capital

The four-page invitation card is printed on behalf of AP state government

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister  Chandrababu Naidu formally released on Saturday the invitation cards for the historic capital city foundation-laying ceremony on October 22. Newly energised Amaravati is mentioned in the invitation cards as the ‘People’s capital’.

Mr Naidu distributed the specially printed cards personally to his cabinet colleagues in a cabinet meeting at his camp office here. He invited their participation in the historic event along with their family members.

The four-page invitation card is printed on behalf of AP state government and in the name of CM  Chandrababu Naidu. The Lotus Medallion and the Amaravati Stupa of the 1st Century were also printed on the cards.

The names of only PM Narendra Modi and CM Chandrababu Naidu are printed. However, the Singapore government’s plan for the new capital city is etched on the fourth page.
 

Chandrababu Naidu to personally invite K Chandrasekhar Rao for capital
The AP cabinet led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has decided to invite his political rival, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, and his cabinet colleagues for the Amaravati capital city foundation ceremony on October 22.

Mr Naidu will meet  KCR on October 18 to extend him a personal invitation. Mr Naidu himself announced this to the media Saturday. Several Telangana leaders including legislators, ministers and TD leaders would be invited.

Mr Naidu directed his cabinet colleagues to meet the CMs and cabinet ministers of various states personally and give them the invitation cards.

Two ministers from Singapore and Japan, Eshwaran and Isuju Kika respectively, would also attend the ceremony, Mr Naidu said, and added that several central ministers and various national-level leaders would also be invited.
