Telangana to take up house-to-house enumeration from November 16

Hyderabad: The TS government will take up house-to-house enumeration from November 16 to December 15 across TS as per a notification issued by the Centre for preparing the National Population Register.

 

The TS government on Wednesday issued orders nominating the Planning Department as state coordinator. It stated that as per the Centre’s guidelines, the NPR exercise would have to be completed by December 31. The orders stated that the Centre had decided to update the NPR and to seed Aadhaar numbers in the electronic database by this by house-to-house enumeration.

 

This will result in the NPR being the most comprehensive database and it will be the basis for selection of beneficiaries for various government schemes and programmes. It has entrusted district, sub-division and tehsil-level staff including collectors, district revenue officers, chief planning officers, RDOs, tahsildars, deputy tahsildars and village revenue officers with the enumeration.
