Hyderabad: Former IAS official and director-general of the city-based Administrative Staff College of India Ravi Kant has been accused of sexually harassing a senior woman faculty member of the institution.

The incident had been reported by the woman to ASCI authorities back in July but the probe — under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act — is yet to reach a conclusive stage.

It is alleged that there is an undue delay in finding out the facts. When contacted, Mr Ravi Kant denied any wrongdoing and stated that the complaint had been forged to malign his image.

According to ASCI sources, an emergency meeting of the Court of Governors was called on October 9. The agenda, however, is not yet clear.
