Visakhapatnam: Pointing negligence by successive governments, Rayalaseema Rashtra Samiti demanded the Union government to carve out a separate state out of erstwhile Rayalaseema region, including some districts in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, by Dec 2018.
 
Talking to reporters, here on Monday,  Rayalaseema Rashtra Samiti  president K. Vekata Subba Reddy has threatened to launch a state-wide agitation demanding  separate Rayalaseema. He said apart from the existing four districts in Rayalaseema region-Krishnagiri, Rayavellore, Bellary and Raichur should be part of the new state.
 
Mr Reddy said the activists of their outfit will also take the stir to Delhi.  He demanded Rs 10 lakh crore special fund for Rayalaseema  region, completion of irrigation projects on river Krishna as per the riparian rights, provision of basic infrastructure, before carving out separate Rayalaseema state. “Rayalaseema has always been neglected and it has increased after bifurcation of the state. Separate Rayalaseema state is the only solution for the development of the region,” said Subba Reddy.
