Zeishan Quadri, the writer of Gangs of Wasseypur and the director of Meeruthiya Gangsters, is all set to join hands with the queen of television industry — Ekta Kapoor. They will work on a series of non-fiction shows for a television channel, and are in talks for film projects as well. According to well-placed sources, a two-year deal has already been signed between Balaji Telefilms and Magical Sevenus (the latter is jointly owned by Zeishan and actress Priyanka Bassi).

Confirming the news, Zeishan says, “Yes it’s true. Ekta, Priyanka and I are collaborating for the first time, for a series of non-fiction shows. Producing was always part of my plan, but I was just waiting for the time and opportunity. And what could be better than kick-starting it with Ekta Kapoor! While my production house (Friday to Friday) will take care of the movies and the reality shows on TV, Magical Sevenus (my firm with Priyanka) will be at the forefront for fiction.”
