Taapsee Pannu

Since her debut, Taapsee has portrayed different roles, preferring not to stay boxed into her debut image. In an interview with us, the actress talks about the B-town rat race and matters of the heart.

Was Baby a more career-defining role for you than even Chashme Baddoor?
No, I don’t think so. Though my versatility was noticed in Baby, my debut couldn’t have been better than Chashme Baddoor.

Where do you see yourself in the Bollywood rat race?
I think people forget that I have done so many films down South; I might be new to Bollywood, but not to cinema. I’m not part of any race.

Who is your closest buddy from the industry?
I am not a social person. I don’t go for all those starry get-togethers often. I share a good equation with Amit Sadh. I can call him at any point of the day.

Your daily routine?
I am not a night person, so I am an early riser. I wake up at 8 am and drink hot water followed by breakfast. Later, I head out to play squash for around 40 minutes. Post-lunch, I take a short nap if I am tired. I then head out with friends and I try to eat my dinner around 7.30 pm and then I’m off to bed, latest by 10 pm.

Are you still dating Mathias Boe? Any plans to tie the knot?
I don’t want to discuss my private life… but this is surely the happiest phase. There are no plans for a wedding anytime soon.
