Bhagawan’s threat caller justifies his move to police officials

The rationalist is trying to vitiate peace in society with his derogatory remarks against Hindu Gods

Hubballi: Raghupathi Tanthri, who was arrested on Tuesday for making threat calls to the office of Karnataka Sahitya Academy and rationalist K.S. Bhagawan, has justified his move during interrogation by police officials.
 
Claiming that the rationalist is trying to vitiate peace in society with his derogatory remarks against Hindu Gods, Tanthri  reportedly said the writer did not deserve to get any award or honour. He also reiterated his opposition to the move to present the writer the annual lifetime achievement award of the Academy. He had made more than 20 abusive calls to the writer from different numbers.
 
Tanthri has been working as priest and warden at the hostel belonging to Akhila Bharatha Madhva Mahasabha Sangh at Shanti colony here. The hostel staff claimed that he has been serving as warden for more than 15 years. The Bengaluru police had detained him by tracing the mobile phone from where he made the threat calls. Terming Bhagavan anti-Hindu, the arrested person defended his action of making threatening calls. 
 
The registrar of Karnataka Sahitya Academy C.H. Bhagya had lodged a complaint with the police after receiving the threat calls from the arrested person. Meanwhile, CID sleuths probing the murder of rationalist Dr M.M. Kalburgi, may seek the custody of Sameer Gaikwad who was arrested by the special investigative team in Maharashtra in connection with killing of Communist leader Govind Pansare. 
 
They are camping in Kolhapur where Gaikwad was produced in court on Wednesday after his police custody expired. CID officials are trying to get further details about Rudra Patil who is suspected to be involved in the murder of Kalburgi.
