New Delhi: Opposing any compensation on call drops, telecom operators told telecom regulator Trai that it will not solve the problem. However, as far as consumers were concerned there was mixed response. While most consumers favoured compensation, some said they needed improvement in service and not compensation. But nearly all agreed that consumers should not be charged for call drops by the operators .

Trai had floated a consultation paper seeking public comments on a proposal suggesting service providers should compensate mobile subscribers for call drops and poor quality of services. This proposal of Trai has so far seen hundreds of individuals commenting.
