111-feet idol of Ganesh in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Vizag will be home to a 111-feet Ganesha idol this year, which could well be the tallest idol ever. About 100 artisans are working to complete the idol before September 17, Ganesh Chathurthi. The 111-feet idol, on VUDA Double Road of Old Gajuwaka, shows Ganesha in the Vishnu pose carrying the Shanku, Chakra and Gadha.

 

Speaking to this newspaper, Bachala Trimurtulu, chairman of the Mahaganapati Yuvajana Seva Sangam, said about three truckloads of clay was brought from Krishna and Godavari rivers for the idol.
