Bengaluru: After meticulously carrying out an operation to form an alliance with Janata Dal (S), first time Congress MLAs like S.T. Somashekhar, the Bhairati brothers, Muniratna Naidu, M. T. B. Nagaraj and KPYCC president Rizwan Arshad have reportedly emerged as a new power bloc within the Congress city unit, which is represented by  heavyweights like ministers, Ramalinga Reddy, K. J. George, R. Roshan Baig and  Krishna Byre Gowda.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a senior leader in the CM's camp disclosed that from day one, the Bhairathi brothers have been in the forefront funding the entire operation. "Bhairathi bothers are leaving no stones unturned in ensuring a smooth flow of funds to take care of corporators now holed up in Madikeri. While Mr Naidu, Mr Nagaraj and Mr Somashekhar jointly funding the stay of  all Congress coporators for the last two days. Mr Arshad has been with them since the beginning of this operation," the source explained.

The source added that  an influential minister and a retired IPS officer who are very close to Mr Siddaramaiah have been keeping a close watch on every movement of each of the 198 corporators.
