Coimbatore: Six persons have been booked by the district crime branch police for selling 2.61 acres of land in Nanjundapuram to two persons in Coimbatore.
Police said the complainant D. Badhal Gower, 70 from Oppanakkara street had bought the land for Rs 11.38 lakh from one R. Giridharan in 2007.
She later came to know that the land had already been registered in the name of Anthony and Reena Mathew in 2006 itself. Following this, Badhal moved the court, which ordered the district crime branch police to register a case after investigation. The police have booked a case of cheating against Giridharan, his mother Jothimani and four others in connection with the fraud. Further investigations are on.
