Kurnool: Rayalaseema Uttarandhra Hakkula Ikya Vedika convener T.G. Venkatesh demanded that Kurnool be made the second capital or the  summer capital of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons during a press meet, Mr Venkatesh urged the Centre and state government to strive for the upliftment of the Rayalaseema region. “If the government ignores this region, the Rayalaseema Uttarandhra Hakkula Ikya Vedika will emerge as a political party and will fight for the people,” he said.

Mr Venkatesh also demanded that the four districts be transformed to eight districts while the other nine districts be made into 16 districts. He said that despite having all resources, the region is neglected by ruling parties adding that it was not even getting its share of water from the Tungabhadra.
