BengaluruThe state BJP has urged the government to convene a emergency session of the legislature to discuss the drought situation. Addressing media persons on Sunday, BJP national vice-president B.S. Yeddyurappa slammed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the Chief Secretary for failing to tackle the drought effectively.

The state government is ‘dead,’ the Chief Minister has no time to hear the grievances of drought-hit farmers, Mr. Yeddyurappa criticized. “Siddaramaiah is travelling between Bengaluru and Mysuru, he has no time to visit villages and monitor the drought situation. Revenue and agriculture ministers are not ready to leave their respective home districts. The government is completely directionless, officers are not doing their work”, the former CM lashed out, asking, “Where is the Chief Secretary? Has he obtained a report from the districts about the drought situation? The government has not paid milk subsidy to farmers nor utilized funds for irrigation projects.”
