Kolkata based Saroj Jalan presented Threading through time, inspired by her city of joy

Day 3 of the Mysore Fashion Week, Season 2 at TheRoyalRunway at Country Inn & Suites by Carlson was themed around the royal bride. Opening the evening with the bridal theme were students of Dreamzone School of Creative Studies. Kolkata based designer Deepali Shah wowed the audiences next with her debut bridal show of her label Peppermint Diva. Designer Mahe Ayyappan and Saroj Jalan celebrated the romantic elegant bride. Known to have dressed stars like Sridevi, Mahe Ayyappan’s The Dream Valley collection was for the modern bride.

Kolkata based Saroj Jalan presented Threading through time, inspired by her city of joy. Designer Ashok Maanay’s collection called Regalia stunned everyone with its rich fabrics and embellishments and was inspired by the coronation ceremony of the Maharaja, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar this year. Adding glamour to the royal collection were showstoppers Miss India Universe 2015 Noyonita Lodh and Ravi Awana Gladrags Manhunt Winner 2013.

The best was saved for the last! The grand finale show was the highlight of the evening, as designer Jayanthi Ballal showcased handcrafted sarees with jewelled embroidery to depict various Gods. Jayanthi’s showstopper Soha Ali Khan looked gorgeous in a saree depicting the royal festival of Dasara. Models in tiger bodysuits were freed from cages on runway to mark the theme Fashion for Freedom by Soha Ali Khan. Choreographer Achla Sachdev, Benazir Suraiya of PETA, Vinod Hyagriv of C Krishniah Chetty & Sons also walked the ramp with them.
