Nellore: Mr J.V. Ramudu, IPS, Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh, visited Sri City Special Economic Zone on Saturday. Mr C. Sriniraju, chairman, Sri City, extended a warm welcome to the DGP on his arrival at the helipad.

The intent of DGP's visit was to review the law and order and security system in place at Sri City. Mr Ravindra Sannareddy, managing director, Sri City, briefed him on the infrastructure and the progress achieved by Sri City. Mr Ramudu went round the campus and inspected the security system in vogue.

He observed the works in progress at Hunter Douglas Industry. DGP had a meeting with the senior officials of Sri City on various issues, including the frequent traffic congestions at the AP-TN border integrated check-post at B.V. Palem.

Inviting the attention of DGP to the need for upgrading the police infrastructure in Sri City, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy said, "Due to fast industrialisation and brisk construction activity the population in the area has been increasing rapidly. Besides this, presence of a large number of expats too calls for strengthening and revamping the existing police outpost and the infrastructure."

"In view of these, we request you to kindly sanction a full-fledged, state-of-the-art police station to Sri City," he urged.
