Khammam: The state government planned to make full-pledged use of Grama Jyothi programme to achieve 100 per cent literacy in villages.

The literacy among the women in Khammam district is worrying lot and it is planned to increase to the literacy rate to 100 per cent from the present 57.44 per cent.

The male literacy is 72.3 per cent and the officials of the adult education were asked to make this figure as 100.

As part of it, the mandal and village coordinators of the literacy mission were asked to conduct a survey to identify the illiterates in the habitations and bring them to the adult education classes.

It is also planned to chalk out a 100 day programme for adult education in the villages.
