BJP worker arrested for murder in Kasargod

A case has been registered against C. Aravindan at Ambalathara police station following the complaint of Pushparaj

KASARGOD: The Hosdurg police on Monday arrested the main accused in the murder of  CPM worker C. Narayanan near Kodombelur,  Kasargod,  on Friday.    

Sreenath, 31, BJP activist  of  Kodombelur,  was arrested based on the  eyewitness account of  C. Aravindan,  younger brother of Narayanan, who is undergoing treatment  for injuries sustained in the clash on August 28.

The police also took the  statement of BJP worker Pushparaj, second accused,  who has been  admitted to a  private hospital in Mangalore under police vigil.

A case has been registered against C. Aravindan at Ambalathara police station following the complaint of Pushparaj. 

Hosdurg Inspector U. Preman  said  that seven cases were registered at Ambalathara police station on Monday against  both CPM and BJP workers for attacking the houses and damaging vehicles.

An all-party peace meeting held at Kanjangad  condemned the violence and appealed for calm.
