Vodafone to launch 4G by December

Reliance Jio Infocomm will also launch its 4G services towards the end of the year

Vodafone has joined the race to launch high speed wireless broadband ‘4G' services by December 2015.
New DelhiVodafone has joined the race to launch high speed wireless broadband ‘4G’ services by December 2015. It will be the second telecom player after Airtel to launch 4G services in the country.
 
Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio Infocomm will also launch its 4G services towards the end of the year. This will means that competition in 4G services will hot up by the end of the 2015 as mobile operators will fight each other to garner more data consumers.
 
Already 4G handsets sales in India is growing at a fast pace. 4G device shipments in India reached 5.7 million units in April-June 2015, a 154 per cent quarter-on-quarter growth, according to Cyber Media Research (CMR).
 
CMR Telecoms Practice, lead analyst, Faisal Kawoosa has said 4G device shipments in the country should cross 11 million units per quarter by the end of this calendar year.
